Quick Post

Just a quick post today, to apologise again and explain that I really haven't desserted you all !!! I am having to spend some time staying with my Mum as she has just had a replacement knee op and as she lives on her own, is in need of help. So am back in my old bedroom at home surrounded in boxes as Mum is such a hoarder, it's like sleeping in cardboard city!!! Just no room for craft stuff, no Sky TV, no mobile phone coverage and no internet, I am now convinced I was brought up in the most remote village in Wiltshire!!! Not really, but that's what it feels like!! I have managed to pop home for a while and thought I would do a quick post whilst I have the chance!!
Anyway folks, that's my update, hope to back with a card soon!

Storage

I was asked the question a few months ago, how do I store my ribbons? As today I am having a tidy up day I thought I would provide my answer. Spice Racks picked up at my local kitchen shop!! These are ideal for ribbons and stickles too. I am lucky enough to have a room that I can leave my craft stuff about , so hubby has put these up between shelves. How do other people store their ribbons?

Hope to be back later with a card!!

Before and After!!

As Mandy asked the question yesterday, I thought I would give you all a quick update!! We are nearly there, just a little work to be done on the brickwork inside and window cills to be fitted. Hubby, my dear father in law, my fab Uncle and dear friend Kev have all done so well. They have all worked so hard and in such awful weather conditions and as you can see, it has been
worth the wait!!
Before and After
Would you believe that they have an identical floor area, we used the exact same base for the new one................ I don't think the garden will ever recover!! Tango was in his pose for the camera mood!!
Take care everyone

Copics Class

Last weekend I went to a Copics Workshop held at Kintbury Village Hall. As you can gather it was arranged by Wendy from Stamps and Memories, who along with the very talented Karen Watson are both Copic Certified. A great time was had by all. It was such a relaxed, stress free day spent with a bunch of lovely ladies, who like myself either dabble with Copics or were eager to try them. I learnt so much more from Karen and Wendy. The day flew by and was soon over, followed by another evening with Wendy. Yes, we did actually get around to doing something!! I decided to practice my new found skills on another of my new stamps. Isn't she gorgeous, Crystal from High Hopes. Just don't mention to my husband how many new stamps I have!! And there are more to come, whoops!!
I know Wendy and Karen are running other Copic Classes around the country, if you think you may be interested, check out Wendy's Stamps and Memories website for details to see if there is one near you, they are great fun!!
Anyway really must close now, two posts in one evening, well not quite it's just gone midnight and time for bed!!

Night, night

Wild Rose Studio Blog Candy

How bad am I?! Just had a week off and have neglected my blog. Mind on other things I'm afraid, hubby's just lost his job, redundant!! That's about all I can say, things can only get better. He now thinks he's retiring and becoming a kept man, we'll see!!!
A few months ago I was lucky enough to win some blog candy from the Wild Rose Studio. I decided the other night that perhaps it was time to try these fab stamps out. So here are my first attempts, Copics and Glossy accents again I'm afraid!!

Hope you like them

This week

Another week gone by and I have neglected the blog yet again. Not entirely my fault, unable to get on the computer!!! Not been able to book a slot. This week has been quite stressful, hence the extra cards!! The card below was made for a work colleague's birthday, as you can guess he is cricket mad so with a combination of Paper Nation backing paper, the cricketer stamp by Dimension Fourth and Glossy accents, here it is!!

My second card is my favourite colours again, sorry folks not very imaginative but I love these papers!! The stamp, another of Stamping Bella's, this one is called Daisy Bittabloom and is gorgeous and available from Stamps and Memories along with the backing papers, Copic Pens and Glossy Accents, yes still love my pens!!

Anyway another blog to post, my Copic Challenge for the week, see you soon!

Quick Card

This is a card that I made in a hurry for a 50th birthday, Copic Pens and lots of Glossy Accents on the windows and head lights and I loved it. The stamp is a Dimension Fourth stamp that I bought at Newbury Show the other week with a changed number plate!! I think it would be a good idea if it was left blank so you would then be able to add your own personilisation!! I actually bought the stamp for my daughter as she loves minis but it wasn't the mini that she hoped for!!!

Bye for now

Sorry

Whoops, I have neglected my blog!! Life has been really hectic but I have found a little time to finish off some cards. I have just realised that all of the cards have the same paper on them, one of many of the Rita Marie Papers available from Wendy at Stamps and Memories. It just shows how versatile the paper is, as it has been used with many combinations of colours.

The card above is another of the lovely Stamping Bella stamps called Matilda Muffinbread, again coloured with Copic Ciao pens and the wings and bows have been glittered.

The second card is Roses Garden, one of my favourites of the Sarah Kay stamps. A different colour combination from the card I made for Wendy but just as lovely, again Copic Ciao, Liquid Pearls and Glossy Accents, I love them all!!!

The next is one of many Leigh Hannan designs produced by Impression Obsession called Zinnias and available from yes you guessed Stamps and Memories. Wendy and I just love the white flora doodle flowers as these can be coloured to the colour of your choice with Copic Ciao and can produce the perfect match for your card.

Any way that's all for today, back to crafting!!

Favourites

I'm back, the PC was free!! Just a short post today as I'm off to visit Wendy in a mo. Have managed a couple of cards this weekend. The first one is one of my favourite stamps and favourite designers. It's called Strawberries designed by Leigh Hannan who has produced some fantastic design for Impression Obsession. Again coloured with Copic Ciao. Unfortunately the colour has not come out too well, the backing paper is actually green and white checked, any ideas to enhance the colour would be greatfully received!!

My second card is Eloise Greengrass by Stamping Bella and I just love the sparkle on her wings, a quicky glue pen and glitter. Again coloured with Copic Ciao. Wendy is trying to persuade me to write down the colours of the pens as I use them but I get carried away and forget!! LOL!!

Anyway that's all for today!!

New Stamps from Newbury Show

Well at long last I have managed to book my slot on the pc and as Wendy from Stamps and Memories has now mentioned my blog I thought I had better post a couple more cards!! And thank you to Wendy for posting one of my cards on her blog, not worked out how to link into it yet though!! No doubt my technical skills will improve in time or not as my family would say. I will confess to Charlotte having had a small hand in creating this blog but only a very small part of it.
Well whilst at Newbury last SaturdayI picked up some new stamps that caught my eye and thought I would have a play. The first card is using a Stamping Bella Stamp called Krista's Vase, coloured with Copics Ciao pens and mounted on Bloom & Grow 6 x 6 papers by My Mind's Eye. I have also used the Martha Stewart simple scallop punch, all of this is available at Stamps and Memories. I just love the result!!

The second card is a gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamp that I have admired for a while, I think it was bought from the Hobby House stand but I'm not sure. Again coloured with Copic Ciao pens and using the simple scallop Martha Stewart punch. For the detail on the trousers, hairband and bows, I have used the Spica pens and Glossy Accents. Anyone who knows me will also know how much I love to use my Glossy Accents!!! And I love anything that sparkles .........

Well my time is up, so I'm off now to create another card or two, will be back soon!!

The Beginning

After spending Saturday at Newbury Racecourse helping Wendy from Stamps and Memories, I decided that perhaps now is the right time to start a blog. Why I thought that I shall never know!! Name your blog posed the first problem! After many attempts and dismissing the name of "Senior Moments" that my daughter suggested, we finally got there. Now what to put on it? The initial idea was the cards that I have made, as the name suggests. Second problem, Wendy has my cards!! After searching the computer and the camera I have come up with 3,not brilliant but they will do for a start.

The first exploding box card was made for the 18th birthday of my cousin Emma, the first 2 layers of flaps were decorated with photographs of her from a baby to the middle photo of her now.

The second card was made for the 21st birthday of a work colleague, I decorated the flaps with messages from each member of staff in the office which I thought was a little bit different to all signing a card. The numbers and butterfly were attached to acetate strips and fed through the base.

Now my 3rd card for today is totally different. I just love my copic pens!! I attended a Copic class run by Karen Watson and Wendy Kadzidlo from Stamps and Memories a couple of months ago and now I am hooked!! I thoroughly recommend this if you get the chance. As you can guess the Retirement card is coloured with copic pens, the stamps that I have used are a combination of Retire in Style by Woodware and Shed by High Hopes. I was so pleased with the result.

Anyway enough for today must get back to crafting!!
